Catholic Charities of Pueblo – Immigration Program partnered with Impact Charitable organization to financially assist the undocumented and other workers in our community who have lost their jobs due to COVID-19 and who were not eligible for both unemployment insurance and the Federal stimulus funds. This project is called the Left Behind Workers FundAssistance (LBWF). Catholic Charities of Pueblo has assisted 150 individuals, and every one of them received $1,000. Addition to this was the Left Behind Workers Fund Rental Assistance Program. Meet Dionicio!
Dionicio is long-term volunteer at El Centro de Los Pobres, you can find him behind the dried beans and rice table as you enter the center. He is always there with a big smile on his face, ready to help everyone.
Unfortunately, when the pandemic started, Dionicio, just like many others, lost his job after many years of working. He found himself in a very difficult place. Dionicio is from Mexico and has no family here. Thanks to El Centro de Los Pobres and good friends in the community he was able to get by, but it was an extremely challenging time for him.

Recently Dionicio was connected to the Left Behind Workers Fund through Catholic Charities of Pueblo that allowed him to received rental assistance for 6 months. This assistance changed his life and allowed him to get back on his feet and secure a place to live. Dionicio is very thankful for this opportunity. He is one of the 6 individuals who received 6 months rental assistance.

Caridades Católicas de Pueblo - El Programa de Inmigración se asoció con la organización Impact Charitable para ayudar financieramente a los trabajadores indocumentados y otros trabajadores de nuestra comunidad que han perdido sus trabajos debido al COVID-19 y que no eran elegibles para el seguro de desempleo y los fondos de estímulo federal. Este proyecto se llama Asistencia del Fondo de Trabajadores Que Se Quedan Atrás (LBWF). Caridades Católicas de Pueblo ha ayudado a 150 personas y cada una de ellas recibió $1,000. Dionicio es voluntario a largo plazo en El Centro de Los Pobres, lo puedes encontrar detrás de la mesa de frijoles secos y arroz al ingresar al centro. Siempre está ahí con una gran sonrisa en su rostro, listo para ayudar a todos.
Desafortunadamente, cuando comenzó la pandemia, Dionicio, al igual que muchos otros, perdió su trabajo después de muchos años de trabajo. Se encontró en un lugar muy difícil. Dionicio es de México y no tiene familia aquí. Gracias a El Centro de Los Pobres y buenos amigos de la comunidad pudo salir adelante, pero fue un momento extremadamente desafiante para él.
Recientemente, Dionicio fue conectado al Fondo de Trabajadores Que Se Quedan Atrás a través de Caridades Católicas de Pueblo que le permitió recibir asistencia para el alquiler durante 6 meses. Esta asistencia cambió su vida y le permitió recuperarse y asegurar un lugar para vivir. Dionicio está muy agradecido por esta oportunidad. Él es una de las 6 personas que recibieron 6 meses de asistencia para el alquiler.
