If you are in immediate danger, call 911

Catholic Charities of Southern Colorado is committed to walking alongside individuals, families, and communities throughout the recovery process.

In partnership with local leaders, government agencies, parishes, nonprofit organizations, and relief partners, we help coordinate compassionate and practical recovery efforts that address immediate needs, support long-term stability, and restore hope.

Wildfire Recovery Efforts

Our hearts go out to all friends, neighbors, and loved ones impacted by this year’s wildfires across the Diocese of Pueblo.

Catholic Charities of Southern Colorado has been especially involved in the response to the Aspen Acres Fire, where we have participated in recovery efforts from the earliest days of the disaster. Our team has been present at the Disaster Assistance Center since it opened, and we continue to work alongside Colorado VOAD and other community partners to support mid- and long-term recovery efforts.

Disaster recovery is the work of the whole community. Together, we can help provide comfort, practical support, and hope to those facing the difficult road of recovery.

Our team has been present at the Disaster Assistance Center since it opened, and we continue to work alongside Colorado VOAD and other partners to support both mid- and long-term recovery efforts.

As a close partner of the Diocese of Pueblo, we remain steadfast in our commitment to being a compassionate presence of Christ’s healing love to all who have been affected by the wildfire.

Building Long-Term Disaster Recovery Capacity

Catholic Charities of Southern Colorado serves communities across all 29 counties of the Diocese of Pueblo. We are working with the Diocese of Pueblo, Catholic Charities USA, Colorado VOAD, and other partners to strengthen our disaster recovery capacity so we can better respond when emergencies affect our region.

Our goal is to be prepared to serve with compassion, coordination, and care before, during, and after a disaster.

We are also working toward disaster response training and certification through Catholic Charities USA so we can better serve all 29 counties of the Diocese of Pueblo when emergencies arise.

A Prayerful Response

As communities across southern Colorado recover from wildfire and other emergencies, we keep all those affected in our prayers.

We pray especially for families who have experienced loss, those facing uncertainty, and the firefighters, first responders, volunteers, and recovery partners working tirelessly to protect and support our communities.

May God bring comfort to those in need, strength to those serving, and peace to all who are walking the road of recovery.
