John Brainard, Interim Executive Director
John was named the Interim Executive Director for Catholic Charities in July of 2022. A native New Yorker, John moved to Pueblo with his wife Carol, a Pueblo native, in 1977. After serving 6 years in the Army, John attended the University of Southern Colorado graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics in 1981, a Master of Arts Degree in Education in 1984, and an Administrative Leadership certification in 1989. He has served as a teacher, school principal, and district administrator in Fountain, Canon City, and Pueblo for over 30 years. John also served the Diocese of Pueblo as the Superintendent of Schools and the Principal of St. Therese Catholic School. He worked as adjunct faculty for several Colorado colleges in Educational Administration and Leadership. His final position was as the President of Catholic Virtual a division of Hudson Global Scholars. John is committed to ensuring Catholic Charities continues to serve the communities of Southern Colorado.
Crystal Estrada, Advancement Director, started at Catholic Charities of Southern Colorado in April 2022. Crystal serves as the external communication strategist on the executive management team whose focus is to advance the mission of the agency. Crystal received her degree in Business Administration from Pueblo Community College and has over 10 years of experience in advancement. Crystal is a lifetime Puebloan who loves to serve her community by sitting on numerous boards throughout the community and volunteering her time to non-profit organizations. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, camping, and fishing.
Cari Herrald, Finance Director, has been with Catholic Charities since April 2018. Cari manages the finance activities of the agency, including budgeting, forecasting, and fiscal reporting. Cari has a B.S. in Business Administration-Accounting from Colorado State University-Pueblo and more than nine years of professional accounting experience in a variety of business sectors. When not at work, you will often find Cari enjoying the Colorado outdoors while hiking or fishing.
Kristin "Anu" Keiley
Kristin "Anu" Keiley, Program Director has been with Catholic Charities since June 2015. A native of Hawai'i, Anu moved to Colorado after serving 12 years in the U.S. Army. She is responsible for ensuring program fidelity and quality improvement as well as building performance-driven teams. Anu holds a Bachelor's in Accounting and a Master's in Business Administration from Colorado State University-Pueblo. She is a master trainer of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and a facilitator for the University of Connecticut's Family Development Credential program. In her free time, Anu enjoys camping, road trips, soaking at Colorado’s hot springs, and spending time with her family.
Special Projects Director
Ida Rhodes, Special Projects Director has been with Catholic Charities since August 2000. She currently is overseeing the agency’s large Communities That Care-B (CTC-B) community initiative. Ida has more than 30 years of experience in the early childhood field and sits on Governor Polis’s Early Childhood Leadership Commission. She received her accreditation in Mission Based Leadership and Organizational Development from the University of Notre Dame. In her free time, Ida and her husband enjoy fixing up old cars. Yet more than anything, she loves being a grandma and playing with her young grandsons.
