Prevention and Stabilization
SafeCare®
SafeCare® Colorado helps parents and caregivers of children ages 0 to 5 build skills that support a safe, healthy, and positive home environment.
At no cost to you, this voluntary program is delivered through weekly visits with a trained Parent Support Provider, either in the family’s home or another convenient location. Each visit is usually 1 to 1.5 hours. Families can complete one, two, or all three SafeCare® topics, with each topic lasting about 6 to 9 weeks.
SafeCare® focuses on three main areas:

Home Safety
Families learn how to identify and remove common household safety hazards and create a safer home environment for their children. This may include support with childproofing and practical safety tools.
Child Health
Parents and caregivers learn how to recognize common childhood illnesses and injuries, care for their child at home, and understand when it may be time to call a doctor, visit urgent care, or go to the emergency room.
Parent-Child Relationship
Families learn ways to build positive routines, increase positive interactions, respond to challenging behaviors, and support their child’s healthy development through everyday activities
