Home Visitor Training

Training and Ongoing Professional Development

HIPPY home visitors receive ongoing training and support to help ensure families receive high-quality services that promote kindergarten readiness and strong parent-child engagement.

Training helps home visitors build the knowledge and skills needed to support parents and legal guardians as their child’s first teacher. This includes professional development in school readiness, observation tools, reflective practices, and infant and early childhood mental health.

Training areas may include:

  • PICCOLO (Parent-Child Interaction Observation Tool)

  • Bracken School Readiness Assessment

  • Reflective supervision

  • Infant and early childhood mental health

This ongoing training supports home visitors in strengthening family engagement, promoting child development, and delivering services with consistency, care, and fidelity to the HIPPY model.
